Analyses on the initial distribution have been done, see also here. The way I see it, they might have secretly kept a lot of Nano for themselves, it’s impossible to know given the pseudo-anonimtiy of crypto. The same would be the case for most cryptos, I think. My thinking here is that while we have no reason to think this has been the case for Nano, we know for sure that it was the case in most other cryptos including Bitcoin. That being said, I also think it matters relatively little by this point. Redistribution is always ongoing — unless we’re ascribing diamond hands to these early holders and they haven’t sold some in the past 5 years.
That being said, we can’t be sure. We can only check the blockchain and draw our own conclusions on it.
